Eight experiences, one rule: everything is real. The forest is a real forest, the shepherd is a real shepherd, and dinner was walking or growing nearby this morning. Mix and match them across your days — your guide reads the weather and the group, then builds each day around what the mountain offers.
All experiences run in private groups of 2–8, guided, in English or Romanian. Difficulty is honest: if we say easy, your grandmother could do it; if we say demanding, believe us.
01 · 4–8h · moderate
Wild forest hikes
Off the marked paths into old-growth spruce and beech, at the pace of the slowest storyteller. Your guide names what you're walking through — trees, tracks, fungi, the politics of the forest — until the forest stops being scenery and starts being a place.
02 · 3h · easy
Mushroom foraging
Late summer and autumn, baskets out. Porcini, chanterelles, parasols — and the lookalikes you leave alone, explained so you remember. What you pick, the kitchen cooks that evening. Nothing tastes like a mushroom you found yourself.

Wild herbs & tea
The meadow you walked through is a pharmacy and a spice rack. Pick yarrow, thyme, St John's wort and mountain mint with someone who knows the difference, then dry, blend and take your own tea home.
04 · golden hour · easy
Mountain photography
First light on the plateau, mist pooling in the gorges, chamois posing on the walls. We time the walk to the light, carry the tripod, and know exactly where the fog lifts first. Phones welcome — the mountain does the heavy lifting.
05 · every evening · mandatory
Local food
Long dinners of what the valley grows, smokes and ferments: soups that end arguments, polenta with everything, cheese from the stână up the hill, jars of zacuscă someone's mother is famous for. Seconds are not optional.
06 · half day · easy
The sheepfold
A working stână at 1 800 m: how bulz, urdă and cașcaval are made, and eaten warm on the spot, standing up, with the dogs watching. You'll understand the whole mountain economy in one afternoon.
07 · dawn & dusk · quiet
Wildlife watching
Chamois in the scree, red deer at the treeline, tracks of bear and lynx in the mud — and the etiquette of sharing their mountain: distance, wind, silence. Binoculars provided; patience taught on site.
08 · after dark · easy
Campfire & guitar
Mountain stories, a careful glass of țuică, live songs until the embers give up. The day's photos get passed around, tomorrow's plan gets argued about, and someone always knows one more song.
